Research

As a visual researcher, Pelumi has been responsible for assembling, cataloguing, and leading research projects nationwide across the UK.

This includes working with collections of historical value, artists, and artefacts, as well as institutions and organisations. Working with a wide variety of public and private sector organisations, she actively supports the research and presentation of contemporary work by Black artists across various mediums. Pelumi has specialist knowledge of Black art in Britain, with a particular focus on Black photographic practices of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Pelumi is currently in the process of compiling a national database of Black Photographers in Britain, and from Britain, from the 1960s till today, alongside a team of experts.
